Adjustable System for Male Urinary Incontinence

– Two-part system consisting of:

1) mesh implant with integrated adjustable cushion

2) implantable titanium port for adjusting cushion volume

– The system is suitable for all degrees of stress urinary incontinence

The treatment of male stress urinary incontinence still presents a significant challenge, with a high percentage of radical prostatectomy patients remaining incontinent after surgery. Designed for transobturatoric implantation, the A.M.I. ATOMS System now combines a minimally-invasive and low-risk method with the option of easy pressure adjustment.

What sets this system apart from others?

The silicone cushion

- Located in the middle of the mesh tape and filled via the low-profile port and catheter both intra- and postoperatively. Patient-specific adjustment requires no surgical intervention and can be made at any time to counteract either continuing incontinence or urinary retention.
- Ensures a gentle, even distribution of pressure on the urethra. Therefore there is no point of maximum compression and the risk of urethral erosion is significantly reduced.

The attachment sutures

- Used to secure the two mesh arms back on to the middle of the implant. These anchor the system firmly in place and eliminate the need for additional fasteners or screws.

The suitability...

- Effective treatment for all degrees of stress urinary incontinence.

...and patient friendliness

- Patients can urinate freely without having to activate a mechanical component.

Other features

- The tape of macroporous, monofilament polypropylene lies flat on tissue and allows optimal ingrowth.

- The mesh is soft, but has virtually no elasticity in the lengthwise direction.

- The removable mesh protection sleeves facilitate implantation.

- The catheter is positioned comfortably along the inguinal crease.
